General Information / Posting Issues Resolved
« on: April 04, 2011, 12:51:20 AM »
It has come to my attention users have been unable to post to the forums due to an unforeseen error with a modification we tried to install on the forums.

We thought we had this issue resolved promptly when we discovered the problem with posting NEW topics. When a user posts a new topic a database error occurred. Several times we have restored 'stock' files, deleted stock forum files but nothing seemed to work!? So we took it a step further. We deleted the database table column which this faulty modification needed. Now we are able to post.

We have successfully fully removed the trouble modifications and all traced. This modification is called 'Reason for Edit', nice modification and it is something we would like to have, but not at this cost. We reported the problem to the author but that is as far as we can go with this without breaking our functionality.

Resume posting as usual. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

General Information / Forms Are Back
« on: March 10, 2011, 03:51:18 PM »
We've restored our data of message, members and boards from a backup from November of 2009.

Resume usages of the website and forums as normal.

Thank you for your patience and time.

Edit: Upgraded forums from 1.1.13 to 2.0 RC5 for newer features we would like to apply to the forums for security purposes. We hope members, new and old, like the new changes.

Calendar Events / SuperHero MOD Past Due Reset Date
« on: August 22, 2009, 07:59:45 PM »
Our last reset date was around March 29th, so our next reset date should have be June 29th, (there abouts). Therefore the next reset date has been posted. I am not going to tell you when it is. You can check it out at our website in three locations.

The Forums, In 'Calendar Events'
Current Events Page
SuperHero MOD Information Page

This came as a surprise to us, it is not like me to forget to post the next reset date. But things have been hectic here with Lil Sticks' presents and keeping me occupied and distracting me from doing what needs to get done. Sorry if I have left you guys in the dark, but know I am doing my best as a ONE MAN team here. As a single person doing everything on my own with distractions and no cooperation tends to make everything stressful. Not to mention the fact having a server just about FULL with NO ADMINS manning the server which makes it even more difficult on me... I am thinking maybe I need to find better admins?

Steam Issues / Counter-Strike Steamworks Beta Client Install
« on: June 05, 2009, 07:15:41 PM »
For those of you interested in Counter-Strike Steamworks Beta. Here is what you do.

Launch steam and just log in, you will need it to install this new mod.

Once steam is running, open your web browser and enter in the address bar:

Or or click the following URL
Counter-Strike Steamworks Beta

Info we found most interesting was: "The focus of this beta is on the dedicated server component, in particular the Linux piece." Get more information about this engine, the click here.

Our server will be up and down as we test this nicely built engine server.

Testing on the client side of this product we have discovered when the map changes the client hangs up and freezes. So server will not be running as it appears to run on the server side of this aspect.

Sorry gang!

If you are installing Steam for the first time or if there has been a recent Steam update, a firewall may be preventing Steam from connecting to the Steam Network.

Please remember to update your firewall permission settings for Steam with every Steam update and for Steam games every time a game update is released. Steam updates and game updates are announced on the Steam News page.
Troubleshooting Steps

Before trying anything else, try bypassing your router by connecting your computer directly to your modem.

If the issue disappears after bypassing your router, please refer to the Using a Router with Steam topic for instructions on configuring your router.

Note: running your router in DMZ mode is not supported by Steam and may result in connection issues.

To ensure reliability, make sure you are using a wired connection to the internet. Close the Steam client application and remove all instances of the following executables from your firewall's permissions list:

Permissions for these executables will need to be re-learned by your firewall.

Open Steam to allow your firewall to re-learn permissions for the Steam executables. If your firewall does not prompt you to set new permissions, the security settings may be too strict - you will need to change these settings so you will be prompted to set permissions.

Give the Steam executables permission for all TCP and UDP ports when prompted.

Restart your computer and load Steam.

If the issue persists, please see the Troubleshooting Network Connectivity topic for further troubleshooting recommendations

Firewall Provider Resources

If you are using a firewall program listed above and have questions about setting permissions, please take the opportunity to open the program and use its Help feature or review the support site for the software:

    * Microsoft provides support for the Windows XP firewall (included with Windows XP Service Pack 2, enabled by default)
    * Norton provides support for Norton Personal Firewall
    * McAfee provides support for McAfee Personal Firewall and the McAfee Internet Security Suite
    * Zone Labs provides support for ZoneAlarm
    * nVidia - nVidia's Network Access Manager is bundled with some nVidia products. Unfortunately, this product is not compatible with Steam - please see the Nothing appears on the Storefront screen in Steam topic for more information.

If allowing permissions does not seem to affect the connection to Steam, please try disabling your firewall completely before launching Steam to test this issue.

For Norton NIS2009 users, this is what you do in a nut shell.

1. Open your NIS Pannel (the nut shell)
2. Click 'Settings' option in the Computer Frame
3. Select Internet Settings
4. Scroll Down to Smart Firewall
5. Click Program Control 'Configure'
6. Select and 'Remove' any rules for
7. Click 'Apply' then click 'OK'

To Turn off the Auto Program Detection.
1. Under Smart Firewall Click on the 'Configure' under Advanced Settings
2. Toggle the ON/OFF switch or OFF for 'Auto Program Control
3. Click 'Yes' when dialog box appears to confirm
4. Toggle on Allow Monitoring
5. Click 'Apply' then click 'OK'
6 Once more click 'Apply' then 'OK'
7 Close NIS2009

Allow NIS to re-learn our steam apps manually (you will be surprised how many times you will be asked)
Launch Steam and Log Into Steam.
Launch any, DOD, CSTRIK, HL, etc., and play
Launch any HL2 game HL2, CSS, etc., and play

Reverse Steps to turn on your Auto Program Control being as your steam apps are learned by NIS2009.

Good Luck,

Calendar Events / Time For 90 Day Reset
« on: May 02, 2009, 02:15:38 PM »
Yeah, if any of you pay attention to the SuperHero MOD Information page. You will have known this day is coming. At some point during this day SuperHero MOD will be reset. We are gonna assume for BOTH R&R and FFA SuperHero MOD servers.

We do not want to put up whining babies about a reset again, but once again we will have to. If you don't like well, too bad just deal with it! We may consider running 4 months, but that is gonna entail harder to level EXP for long term saving. It is too easy as it is and we are gonna be changing that for the next reset anyhow. We are working on expanding the scale right now. Our gold is to require 5,000 or more kills to earn top level. This doesn't include the buying of EXP or the headshot multiplier which will be set to 1.5x's or 2x's EXP for these KILLS. (NOT HITS YOU FOOLS).

We are considering if at the time of the reset and you are here you will get to keep your EXP unless you are a high level player like 11 and above. For those of you that really know me, I have been know to 'pop the plug' on the reset before due date. Well, don't say we didn't warn you!

Good luck to all!

Downloads / HLGuard 1.8
« on: April 12, 2009, 10:03:05 PM »
Please be aware. HLGuard has been down for some time now. Going on a better part of a year near as I can tell. United Admins has HLGuard as DISCONTINUED which doesn't surprise me much at all. All the REAL ANTI-CHEATS have gone by the way side, and the authors fear turning over the project to anyone to resume working on due to the fact the feel they want the code to write cheats and hacks and how to get around the Anti-Cheat measures.

Well, being as the website is gone, I am offering the HLGuard download to use in its original form from the HLGuard Z Project.

I will advise you to edit the hlg_cvar.cfg file though. Why the f**k would anyone want to keep the client's BRIGHTNESS to DEFAULT (50%)? I mean come on, get real you piss ants?! Not everyone can see in dark places of a map or a dark map like cs_assault2k. With this plug-in f**king up players environment settings how the f**k is this a problem! FFS what the hell were you morons thinking in doing this?!

You will require BOTH attachments below. Unzip the main then unzip the 2nd file which is the config update 1.9 and then move the hlguard folder into your addons folder and replace all necessary files.

The line you will need to remove here for you and your clients sake.
Once download and unzip the packages below, browse your way to /addons/hlguard/config/cstrike (or czero) and open the file hlg_cvars.cfg file.
Remove the following line:
Code: [Select]
hlg_conncommand "brightness 1;alias brightness"

Downloads / Wally WAD Download
« on: February 21, 2009, 10:24:47 PM »
We have just noted that WallyWad's website,, has dead links posted to download the program. So we took it among our selves to host the file here for player to download so they can create custom sprays.

Steam Issues / Error verifying STEAM UserID ticket
« on: February 06, 2009, 11:15:40 AM »
I receive the following message: 'Reason:  Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket(server was unable to contact the authentication server).'

First of all, let's clarify something right now. Their statement 'server was unable to contact the authentication server' is TOTALLY false. Though it is true, it is not because the server is incapable, it is because the authentication server is NOT RELIABLE. So how is it the server's fault it can't contact their servers. Things that make you go WTF!?

If the Steam Network is down or too busy you may not be able to connect to a Game Server - to determine whether or not this may be the issue, please check the Steam Status Page - if the last update for that page is more than 20 or 30 minutes behind, there may be a Steam network outage.

If it does appear as though the Steam network is down, you must wait until the problem is resolved. *(there's a f**king surprise)

If you continue to receive this error message, the issue can most likely be resolved by restarting the Steam client.

If restarting Steam does not resolve the issue, please exit Steam and delete the following files from your Steam directory:

    * Steam.dll
    * SteamUI.dll
    * Rename the ClientRegistry.blob

The files should be found at C:\Program Files\Steam\ (the location on your machine will vary if you specified a different installation folder, or if you have moved your Steam installation).

If you continue to see this issue, please contact Steam Support:

Contacting VALVe Billing and Support

Please do not contact us about this issue, this is STEAM's problem, not ours (as THEM F**KS make it appear). The issue is simply they are down and you MUST wait for their lazy dumb-asses to fix the problem if them monkeys can find their way out of a paper bag first!

Calendar Events / Its been 90 days again!

Steam Issues / HP Counter Client Glitch
« on: January 18, 2009, 03:32:36 PM »
A question we get asked most as player gain levels and get beyond 255 HP is this: "{ADMINNAME}, Is the server broken or something because my HP only says 19!?" We ask, "What does your AP read?" Answerers:  "275. Why?" Our reply is, "You mean to tell us you do not know about the HP Client Counter Glitch?" The most common reply is "What Glitch?"

The problem here is simple ladies and germs: On the client GUI the HP counter only counts only from 0 - 255. Therefore: 256 would show up as 0 on the client's HP counter. So if your counter reads 19 add 256 to it and your total HP would be 275. As players achieve higher heroes they never notice the AP counter reading saying, 450, 400, 350, 300 or 275. Typically a hero with HP/AP most of them come with the HP/AP set.

Hope we shed some light on this matter.

Steam Issues / ... file differs from servers.
« on: January 14, 2009, 10:55:22 PM »
You have been kicked from server:
Reason: Your [map/model/sprite.ext] differs from servers. Server enforcing file consistency checks.

We have seen this message more recently then ever. Why? From Windows' built in Disk Cleanup utility takes it upon its self to 'compress' your files for you. If you open up your STEAM install folder you will find files (if the color option is enabled) in the SOMEFILE.GFC blue color.

Your best fix will be to decompress your files from the source.

Here's how:
  • Right Click on the Drive and select, Propertied
  • Click the box for 'Compress Drive to save space' check box.
  • Click apply, then select Radio Option to Apply to D:\ Only, then OK.
  • Now Unclick the bod for 'Compress Drive to save space' check box.
  • Click apply, then select Radio Option to Apply to D:\, Subfolder and files', click ok
  • Wait until job is complete...
Now that your files do not have to do through the 'uncompression' phase during the fetching and opening of the file, STEAM (gag) can verify the file.

Simple enough.

Steam Issues / Welcome to STEAM help area
« on: January 14, 2009, 10:37:38 PM »
This area is for clients who are having problems with their servers and are looking for answers to complex issues even Steam will not handle.

Forum rules apply here. But let's face the facts. We are busy and have better things to do for our servers. So if you post in here, be patient, if it is urgent, keep looking unless what you are looking to solve is posted here.

When posting, be sure to include the following data required:
  • CPU - Manufacture, Speed, Cashe
  • RAM - MB of ram installed (And Verify with Operating System, Windows XP only sees <3.3 GB of Memory and some Linux Builds only see the first 848MB of RAM - Linux is fixable, windows is not).
  • And finally, the issue you are having.

A good example of this will be:
CPU - Xeon® 3.16GHz processor 5400 series
RAM - 6GB PC12800 DDR3

Issue: We can connect to our LAN server but players are not able to come in from the WAN (or internet). The more details you can give us with, the better we can help you try to solve your problem.

Good Luck!
